Hmmm, I take it that the film was okay, then?

Iron Man is to Marvel as Batman Begins was to DC ... It is truth in every sense of the word to the character. .... See it.

As I said, yesterday, this is the BEST MARVEL MOVIE in a long time!

I was a little iffy on Paltrow at first, but she was pretty good. Howard was spot on, and Bridges played his part well.

I think Marvel has finally got the right idea of making movies (mainly) by themselves. The movie was a good length, and didn't feel like it was dragging too much in places at all.

Oh, and stay till the end of the credits. It's worth it just for the music.

Saw it last night. Kick ass movie. 400 people all groaning, laughing and gripping the egde of their seats in unison. Haven't had that atmosphere in a cinema in a long time.

Jeff Bridges. Bald.  Shocked That got surreal for me right about when he started talking. I really liked Paltrow. She had some great lines and and she delivered them well. Trash. Hehe.

That suit is as badass as it should be. Here's to more red metal suits appearing in spycraft games.  Grin

I'm glad they kept the music as asmetal and rock. Kept the vibe of the trailer for the action scenes it showed. A faithful adaptation of the trailer.  Wink

Jarvis wasn't quite what i expected, and

Now I have to wait that long wait for the dvd or even better blu-ray version of it to come out. So long away...  Sad Thank god for the Hulk so I can get an Iron Man fix before then.  Cool

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse whore. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.

Awesome, awesome comic book movie. It "gets" what made movies like Spider-man so great - never takes itself too seriously, really well fleshed  out main character, doesn't get into a convoluted plot. I loved it, and so did my wife.

Whatever you do, stay on until after the credits have rolled.

After the very lengthy credits roll is the best surprise to the film IMHO.

That's just not fair. Now I must see the movie again to find out what you are talking about. I'll have to suck it up and take one for the team.

Nope ... if you missed go suffer the tough job of watching the film again and enjoying it ... the credits are lengthy but it is worth it to see the post credits bit.

As the avatar might give away, I'm a big Iron Man fan.  I can honestly say that I've waited two-thirds of my life for this movie.

I am not disappointed in the slightest.  Casting is terrific.  The dialog feels just right.  The armors ... Dear Lord in Heaven, they're perfect.  The post-credits scene is terrific;  there are a couple of hints at things we'll see in sequel films.

My best bud and I both confessed afterwards that we both went in to the movie looking for things to be disappointed in, looking for some confirmation that the teases and trailers and other peeks at the movie couldn't have been as good as we were thinking - that it was just the fanboy in us.  Nothing doing.  This has knocked Batman Begins out of its spot as Favorite Comics Movie.

As an aside, check out the current comic series (Iron Man: Director of SHIELD).  The father-and-son Knauf team is writing a terrific espionage-supers book, and it seems that only me and about 22 other people on the planet know this.  The upcoming second series (Invincible Iron Man) is going to be more tied-in to the movie, and I expect it to be good, but IM: DoS is just terrific.
