In your opinion (those who have it/have played it) is Gentlemans agreement worth buying to convert to 2.0?

I would say it is probably worth it.  You can get 3 to 4 really good missions from it.  It was the module that my group started with in SC 1.0.  There is even a flashback mission to the days of the Cuban Missile Crisis where the group replays a mission that comes back to have some significance in the present day.

I'm currently running this mission.
I ran part one some ago, and allowed gaps before part two. The group seems to like them. My last session landed in the middle of mission 2. They just completed the big chase scene (which will be the hardest thing to convert in the whole mission.)

Mission 3 (the flashback) I'm not sure about. I REALLY don't want the group to run clones of themselves in the past (as is suggested) so I'm considering having all the players pass their character sheets to someone else. This has mutifold implications.

1> It could show the character can be about much more than stats. The lvl 6 russian soldier who is driven to hurting people could be come the Asian who uses force only when needed.

2> It gives my players who have all played a total of one character in spycraft a chance to see what else the system can do.

3> It allows me to run a fairly cool flashback adventure.

4> It might open doors for the less 'with it' system players if I hand their character to someone who knows what they are doing for a session. It might even prompt advice that will help them. "Hey I didn't realize you could do all this."..."Neither did I, how does THAT work?"

Downsides:
1> It throws people off their character for a game, and might hurt continuity.
2> It might be clumsy as people struggle with what they can do, and slow the game down.
3> Flashbacks have a way of running amok..what if the group blows up the world?
4> Someone may end up with characters they really can't handle. "What, IM the leader - pointman 6? but I just play grunts who follow orders!"

Still I'll most likely do it this way.

I would offer my conversions, but I winged alot of it, and I'm not really satisfied with the results enough to make them public here.

Let us know how the flashback goes. I try to get feedback on that and other experimental missions whenever possible.

Something I am trying for an upcoming convention (Dundracon) game and something which may work for one-off missions like the flashback is to just make PCs like you would NPCs.  Give them some stats, abilities, and choose a threat level and you are good to go.  These characters won't advance anyways, so I don't see a need for an extremely detailed leveling system in these cases.

I won't really know how well it works until after Dundracon, but it is definitely something I wanted to try.

We considered this when we originally put the book together, but space restrictions prevented us from making it happen. The schedule was also pretty jam-packed back then, so there wasn't a chance to go back and add them to the site either. :-/

For those interested, I posted my 2.0 conversions of the NPCs from Gentleman's Agreement in Minions, Inc.

I think I'll probably pick this up at some point - though since our Boiler's playing up it might be a while.
Since MouthyMerc has kindly converted the NPC's that'll probably be the bulk of the conversion work.

I did play this with Pat running it. The series is ok but the flashback could provide problems for an inexperienced GM/GC.

I would like to see this one converted though since I believe it would work for a home game.
