Died at home, aged 84

Either this is a big coincidence, or there's something in the water over there.

Year of the Reaper, man - and we're not even halfway through it yet.

It's gonna be a looooong eight months.  Embarrassed

I was checking IMDb on Friday (I think) to see which celebs were having a birthday (I'm nerdy like that) and was a little shocked to see the first name on the list was Heath Ledger. The way IMDb runs things, if the person is deceased then they print the age they would have turned along with their birth year and death year.

As I flicked through the list I saw that most of the people also born on that day were also dead. Okay, so most of them were famous back in the 30's and 40's, but it was still a little morbid.

I'm waiting for someone to try to now remove his rifle, and watch zombie Heston stand up and shoot someone, because zombie Heston never made the agreement. Cheesy (if you have to ask what agreement, you're too young. Cheesy )

They really should bury him with his rifle in hand.  That would rule.   Cool

My two favorite memories of Heston was when he appeared on the "Daily Show" with Craig Kilborne and made the statement: "I spent half of my career not wearing any pants."

The second: Wayne's World 2

Constitutional misinterpretations aside he had a pretty cool career and I've enjoyed just about all his movies.

You know, I'm not sure what it says about me, but my first thought on hearing about his death was "Well, maybe they'll finally get the gun out of his hands."

This might be the most predictable Onion Headline ever, but for those of us who thought it, I thought it might make us feel better.

And in related news, they're remaking Ben Hur.

Seriously, WTF? Not only is this in fairly bad taste - "Finally! The Old Man's dead! Let's piss on his grave! Hand me his gun! I wanna dribble through the barrel." - but... it's fuckin' Ben Hur. I mean, really. What the hell are they gonna remake next? Citizen Kane? Casablanca? Nosferatu?

Aaargh!

They did remake Casablanca... into a TV show (featured Hector Elizondo as the captain and Ray Liotta as the bartender)... there was also a 1955 series.
