It wasn't the Mongoose page that I had a problem with I know that means nothing.

But you guys know that our hope (expectation) was for it before 4th Edtion D&D.

This book IS slated to release before 4th (which, IIRC, is set to be out in May 2008), so don't fret on that front.

That's why this is news and that's why I am sad you made that known by a cryptic cartoon.

Anyway stop wasting time with idiots like me and get back to writing!  ;D

Ah, got it. In our defense, Alex's post went out before our New Years resolutions, when we made clear our stance on release dates. We hoped that everyone would understand that any release information provided before that was null and void. :)

Believe me, we wish that we could have gotten the book out before 4E, but it's just not to be.

And like Alex said, the cartoon was more a comment on our mental state - which always gets a little funky around crunch time - than anything else.

...Right now, the only thing we're certain of is that the book won't be available at Origins. We're shooting for GenCon, but we're not going to commit to that until we're sure.
GENCON?

Maybe I'll get to meet Pat and see Alex again (and get both of you to autograph my Spycraft 2.0 books).

I'd offer to help out but, if I'm going to Gencon I'll be a WotC booth slave.

If ya feel like paying to drag me to Origins, I'm open to the idea.  {{hint hint, wink wink}}

Alex and I will definitely be at the show this year. :)

That's a shame. We're in pretty dire need of volunteers at the moment (as our crew unexpectedly backed out). If you know anyone who might want to help out and needs a badge and/or place to crash, please let us know.

We can't get you there, but if you show up we can put you up and give you a badge. If you're interested, drop me a line!

No offence to the Crafty Guys, but I always got the impression that was being too optimistic.  I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with it in all honesty - I fully intend to pick it up, but I'm more looking forward to Farthest Star and the rest of the Spellbound series.

We'd love to, but I doubt it'll happen this year. Hopefully soon, though.

Hmmm, most of my high points seem to have been covered - guns, cannon, ship combat, and war....

Looks like my culverin and mortars will be seeing some use. :)

The Auld Grump, and how will the wonderfully unreliable wheel lock be handled?
I don't know how the story ends...
But I do know what happens next.
