I was just wondering, how are gear handled in Fantasy Craft? Will there be a more traditional system like in D&D with gold pieces and buying stuff, or something similar to Spycraft again, with Gear Picks and Caliber?
Also, what about technology? Will there be rules for blackpowder, flintlock pistols and early cannons? Smiley

There will be a stockpile, loot the bodies oriented system.

Since Wyrmstone has black powder, presumably they will include rules for them.

We have a PDF coming out soon called The Big Score that will detail two new gear systems: a stockpile system and a cash and carry system. C&C will be included in Fantasy Craft, allowing you to horde and spend coin as folks are used to in fantasy games.

Early firearms will be included in FC, as a couple settings use them (Godspawn and Wyrmstone).

How early is early, in regards to firearms? Firepike, matchlock, wheellock, snaplock, flintlock.... I suspect that cap and ball is far too late period. Tongue

The Auld Grump, and will there be cannon?  Cheesy

Through flintlock, certainly.

Should be, yes. The rules will be modular in the same fashion as the core game, allowing groups to pick and choose their poison (and other gear, and other rules, etc.).

And God shall shout forth His judgement from the muzzle of cannon.

My favored period for fantasy is closer to the Reformation than to the medieval.... Wars of religion, batteries of cannon, the burning of cities, the Black Death.....

I did find it interesting that the Assassin preview has only numbers in the place of gear picks. Is this an indicator that Fantasycraft classes can set their own gear categories, or just that you haven't yet decided on the gear picks for the Assassin?

It's more likely that it's our first glimpse of the cash and carry system.

Arise o' topic! Rise from your sleep of death!

Just wondering how ships will be handled, and if there will be naval combat in the mass battles Dramatic Conflict. Since I am planning an Elizabethean game rules for large wooden ships with lots of cannon has the potential to be rather important.... (A little thing called 'The Armada'....)
