Sweet find man! Some of this stuff - Her Clockwork Heart and Maiden Flight, for instance - sounds a lot like Ken Freeman's Tripods score, and there's nothin' wrong with that. Smiley

Ken Freeman's Tripods score

You're talking about the TV series, based on the book trilogy, yes? I saw the first season on DVD locally and had a lot of trouble resisting the urge to purchase it.

And that music is pretty rocking! Even their covers are kewl.

Yup. I love that series like I love air. It's a tragedy that they never got to do the third book, though the end they pulled together was pretty damn awesome (IM-nihilist-O).

Yeah it is. The vids are pretty sweet too. There's also a metric ton of free stuff over on the Discography page, though some of it doesn't look like it should be there.

EDIT: Ah, they're all covers - and good covers, too. I especially like the On Her Majesty's Secret Service one. Smiley

Well, let me rephrase that.

So far I've listened to the first few tracks on the main page (upon which my initial judgement was made) and now Catalysts. I think he would have been better served in going the purely instrumental route. While his interpretations and rearrangements are quite funky if slightly Casiotone in places (I especially like the mor eintimate vesion of Blade Runner's end titles despite the over sampling of the dialogue from other tracks on the Vangelis score), his vocal work on this album leaves something to be desired I'm afraid - both his timing and key are irritatingly off, and is generally rather flat and monotonous, especially on favourites like "Cloudbusting", while "Black Celebration" has always worked better sans vocals. Oh and a personal pet peeve is the crossfading between tracks.

Further reviews to come.
