Just for kicks and giggles, this here is my home as of today after yet another snowstorm.  This is all the accumulated snow to date.  Not as bad as some places in Canada, but a little bit more than we have seen for a while in this area.  Being on Lake Ontario, our weather tends to usually be more mild.  This year, though, the snow seems to be making up for lost time.

This last ones from my driveway to the street.  Plow still hasn't gone by in two days.

We've been getting a lot of snow here in New Hampshire too, though it hasn't been piling up quite as much because we're getting rain every other day too. I swear New England weather is rolled on a chart.

It is, once every D6 hours....

I wish we had snow instead of rain ALL THE TIME. Right now the UK is being battered by a storm the likes of which we haven't seen in the last 20 years...

And yet, here in NZ, it's still summery outside. That said, unusual weather isn't anything new for Auckland. About 100 years ago it snowed here one Christmas. Sure, it was because of an extremely stong southerly off the Antartic, but still, NZ's idea of a white Christmas is putting whipped cream on your christmas pudding.

Which seems to be missing Nottingham altogether Wink The weather here, while cold and wet, is about normal for a March.

My best winter was one I spent in the Falkland Islands (on a remote mountain radar site):

That is just after noon on 10 July 2001. Whiteout! The only downside was I was due to be getting a helicopter off the mountain back to the main military base so I could fly home to the UK... suffice to say, the helicopter couldn't get anywhere near us!

I envy all of you (except Wolverine). It's averaging around 70F here right now and the skies have been invaded by this annoying ball of fire that seemed to want me dead. Yes, me personally. I like to believe it's because I was a fickle, sun-hatin' god in my former life (perhaps during the Ice Age).

Oh weather, why have you forsaken me...?  Cry

We got snow twice this past week in Arkansas (just a few inches to cause panic and shut down school on two different days, (much to the wife's dismay). The roads were fine by  8 a.m. Snow this late in March is an oddity in the southern US. My mom lives in a valley about an hour from where I'm at and she got about nine inches on the first day and six more on the second.

I love snow and cold... one of these days I'm going to talk the wife into moving to Wyoming or Montana. (Like that'll happen).

Because you live in California? Wink

And if you want another reason not to be me - I was a groomsman at a mate's wedding in January this year. He's as big a sci-fi geek as I am, so had picked Matrix-style suits for men to wear. Wearing a full length coat over a waistcoat on a pretty hot day in the middle of summer is not something I ever want to do again.

Ever.

Seriously.

PAT EDIT: There is no edit. You saw nothing. You hear me? NOTHING! Ahem. (I hit modify again, but everything's back to normal now - grrr.)

Can I help it if my parents were silly enough to follow everyone out west? Oh wait, I can... Hm.

Heh. I've actually been planning to move for many, many years now but something always gets in the way. Ten years ago, when I was last as serious about it as I am now, it was AEG. Now it's just deciding where to go next, which is turning out to be a much more prolonged decision than I expected.

The weather  here in St Louis has been schizophrenic, last weekend it was in the seventies, the next day we have 10 inches of snow, then the  day after it melts in 40 degree sunlight:)
This was all last week

Weird. Shocked

There are four guns hidden in this photo...

That's the best photo I have of me in the suit. We're still waiting for the official photos to come back from the photographer.

The best man and I did suggest the bride walk into the church to the Imperial March, but that was, unfortunately, shot down. It ended up being a traditional Catholic wedding (albeit a short one) and I managed to make it through the whole thing without once having to come in contact with holy water - and thus revealing my heretical nature by causing it to steam on touch Wink

That's funny. I was in charge of the music at my own wedding.... pending upon the soon-to-be wife's approval.

ADDED: Make the Imperial March when the mother's are escorted to their seats... That'll be good for some laughs.

I proposed that same Imperial March for my friends wedding last summer, and the groom was all for it but the bride wasn't too keen on it.
Rest assured if I ever get married Imperial March will play, even if I have to compromize on the other arrangements  Wink.
