Hey folks, been quite awhile since this prodigal son has darkened the Spycraft doorstep (and towels).

Long story short, I'm hoping to finally get to play Spycraft again after a 2+ year hiatus.

I remember back on the Living Spycraft site, there was a pretty nice collection of Unitas-themed pregenerated characters, 5-6 pages long, with a intro/file photo, gear list, feat descriptions, etc.

If anyone has any of those sitting around, or even better the template it went in, it would be nice to have available.

I'm glad to see that those characters are still making the rounds.  I created them, and there wasn't really a template beyond a half-done (and cut down) version of a spreadsheet for skills.

I'm actually printing out those characters to use in a game this weekend at my local roleplaying club. I'm hoping to get some more people interested in Spycraft locally.

Good to be back folks -- can't promise how vocal I'll be with grad school getting ready to beat my brain into a sticky mush.

Gentry, I've found those to be quite useful -- of course, given my occasional fits of creative madness, I think I've come up with a slight template approach, keeping the prior format, but also embedding the excel sheet into the file... I'll play with it some more Smiley

Re: GC Shield -- did some work on it last year, ran out of time to finish up the edits I needed to make and haven't touched it since.

Since we're talking about the iconics, I've got a question:

I assume that most folks use them for demo purposes, and that's precisely what they're intended for.  The question I've got is "would they work better at 2nd level?"

As I go round and round in my head over it, it seems to me that at 2nd level they'd all have another cool class ability, and they'd all have more vitality than wounds (which "looks" right).

The counterargument for me is that they work just fine at first level (properly displaying the cool of Spycraft, and especially how freaking awesome a level 1 Agent is compared to a level 1 D&D character), and there's no sense in adding more stuff to an already thick stew.

Thoughts?  I'm fiddling off and on with the Wyrmstone iconics for eventual use when Fantasycraft roars to life, so these thoughts will likely apply there as well.

I think level 1 worked with the principle of an LSpy game, you start at level 1 and you can either adopt it as your character if you don't want to make a new one up, or you can get into play with a minimum of fuss.

Now that that is no longer relevant I'd say whatever fits whatever you're demoing. I wouldn't come out with sample characters higher than 3, because SC characters build up a lot of abilities and you don't want to overwhelm...

I thought the level 1 iconics were more for starting LSpy chars; the lvl 3 demos seemed to be sized right for demos.

For that matter, the homebrews I churned up for my Con games are all 4th level (except my Island of Dr. Shang characters, which are 6th level), but I'm a stickler about adding a class ability sheet to the charsheet so players don't have to look up abilities in play.

Here's a little something I just whipped up, combining Gentry's format with a little tweaking of my own.  It should serve as a template (I'm hoping it's embedded the Excel file and that doesn't have to be downloaded separately).  May require more work -- would probably be worthwhile creating a logo, either for Unitas or your agency of choice that's the same width as the rest of the document (the first page's margins are matched to the logo image so it doesn't look too strange).

For example purposes, I found a random character description on the Agents forum and plugged in the Iconics 3 stats (with 1 or 2 minor changes).

I actually like the look of that quite a bit.  Thanks.

Can it be modified as is?  When I tired to mess with the excel bits it fritzed it all up.

I liked the homage to Forsyth. I was reading the Avenger the other day. And I still need patience to read Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 entirely.
