Vampire. You are a child of the night with a never-ending hunger for blood.
·   All attempts to treat you with human medicine are ineffective, including direct exposure to stimulants, toxins, pathogens and anaesthetics of any sort; however, second hand exposure via the blood you feed on or using tainted blood as a transmission medium affects you as normal with a primary onset time of Constitution modifier minutes, and inflicts an amount of stress and subdual damage equal to the dice used to determine primary onset time. Once infected with a pathogen, you are considered contagious whenever you feed until the end of the current mission. (0)
·   Once per session, you may spend an action die to slumber uninterrupted for a full day (sleep at dawn, rise at dusk the following day) in order to restore yourself to complete health, including the effects of any pathogen or toxin. However, fire and holy damage, and critical injuries, can only by healed naturally. (2)
·   You suffer a –2 penalty on all attempts to disguise yourself as or blend in with humans and the result cap of any medical scan made to distinguish you from a human increases by 10. Further, you do not register on Chemical or Thermal sensors unless you've recently fed. (2)
·   Your base speed increases by 10'  (1.5)
·   You gain the natural attack (bite II) NPC quality, which may be used instead of your normal unarmed damage to injure an opponent during a grapple. If you gain 2 grapple benefits during a round, you may combine both to automatically score a threat with your bite attack. (1)
·   You gain the Achilles Heel (Fire), Achilles Heel (Holy), Fast Healing, feral, Low-Light Vision and Night Vision NPC qualities. (1.5)
·   You gain the benefits of a Raid Jacket against standard unarmed, melee and ranged attacks. However, any attack that penetrates this DR leaves you flat-footed until the beginning of your next initiative round. (1)
·   You no longer breathe or require food, and thus are no longer affected by suffocation, inhalation or starvation rules. You however need to drink 1 quart of human or 2 quarts of animal blood in order to avoid the effects of thirst. Further, once affected you must drink twice the normal amounts to remove the conditions imposed. Finally, if you suffer any damage to your wounds while affected, you must make a Will save against a DC equal to 10 + damage inflicted + mission caliber to avoid becoming frenzied and attempting to feed. (1)
·   Between dawn and dusk, you lose access to the damage reduction, vision, fast healing and increased speed benefits granted by this talent, and are considered subject to the effects of sleep deprivation, utilising 12-hour periods rather than 24-hr periods. (-2)
·   Light Sensitive: Each time you enter a more brightly lit area, you take 6 points of flash damage for each category the ambient light increases (see Spycraft 2.0 table 5.14, page 351). You suffer a -4 gear penalty to all Flash damage saves. This save penalty may be eliminated by wearing tinted goggles or glasses (a common item). (-0.5)
·   Vendetta: The disposition of all practicing members of the Abrahamic faiths is reduced by 2 grades. (-0.5)

Nice old-school approach.

instead of the riot jacket, you might wanna consider the thick-skinned quality from classic fantasy. just a thought.

I think that the good Mister Andersen is trying to avoid material outside of the core book, at least as much as possible.

Nice take, but I see thirst mentioned and not explained. Vampire is required to feed on blood, but it isn't clear from this what happens if he doesn't.

Well, I don't have Classic Fantasy.  Undecided

Anyhoo, Thirst doesn't really need expanding upon - you get hungry, you want to feed.

Bolded, is why I wondered about thirst as I thought you just left it out. Link it to the starvation rules somehow? I'm not sure exactly what you intended. Are there thirst rules in the 2.0 tome?

Page 349 of the Second Printing, under Starvation and Thirst. I assume the implication is that Vampires need blood the way we need water.

Mr. A, should we assume that Vampires don't need extra blood at temperatures above 90F? Indeed, something about needing extra blood at temperatures below 0 Celsius might even be appropriate.

Thanks for that link. Yes - thirst is a harsher mistress than hunger

And answered...excellent. That's all I needed to make it work in my head. Maybe make a note to the page reference and the rules referred to in the body of your text. Spycraft is massive and I vaguely remembered Crafty having something about starvation/thirst but I wasn't totally clear. Good job in any case.

Tweaked it a bit - upped the speed boost, added feral and revalued the day time loss of abilities.

I like.  But, as no good deed goes unpunished, I must now request werewolves.  Please.

It is interesting.  A bit of a variation on the talent you did a while back.  I have to say, though, I very much like Morg's idea of making it a feat.  Then creating a specialty with said feat for those wishing to start the game as a vampire.
