How about Charlize Theron? The short spiky cut looks good on her, and she's got the right build for a classic Marvel female.

In my personal experience the short spiky cut looks good on all women with a Marvel build. Or it could be that anything looks good on them.

There's some sweet pics in there, but this one would have to be my favourite.

Ok, I've not read the Ironman comics, so I was wondering what, based on the trailers so far, is everyone's impression of Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark?

Um, he's pretty much the best call they could have possibly made (IMHO). Smiley  Just in the trailer he captures all the pompous smarm, lecherous snobbery, and self-righteous, bad-ass, do-goodery that makes for the heroic tin can we know and love, and from his prior work we know he has the chops to simultaneously bring the hubris and pathos of Stark's tragic background to the fore.

Best. Casting. Ever.

He doesn't just have the look, but Downey's lifestyle is a little similar to Stark's.

Cool, I like the lines they have had in the trainers.  Especially, the "this isn't the worst thing you've caught me doing"...

I love it. I was really worried during the "Tom Cruise" phase of development, but they pretty much had me at Robert Downey Jr. Every step beyond that they've proven they have what it takes to make this one sing.

Plus, Obadiah Stane, how freakin' cool is that?

Downey's a great choice.

Maybe the only better (visual) choice would have been Tom Selleck in the 1980s, but that's not workable now and I'm not sure if he could have played the role despite looking perfect for it.

My only "reading" with Stark is through the Avengers books. It's pretty spot on casting with Downey.

Unlike some heroes that have a public persona and a costume persona... Stark is pretty much Stark whether or not he's Ironman = a pretentious a-hole that you just love to hate. Downey can play that for all it's worth.

RDJ is a pretty damned good casting of Stark. From the trailers so far he looks pretty much perfect. The only way to be closer would be to have Tony Stark walk out of a comic book and onto the screen (or give RDJ blue contact lenses  Tongue).

The only way it could be better is if they brought back this song.
