Ok, I know I saw this being talked about somewhere before about the full tree of the Martial Artist being published in a free publication.  Could someone please post where this is going to be.  Thanks and much appreciated.

Hmmm, why do I have a feeling that some people will refer to the Backhand ability by another, somewhat ruder, name?  Tongue

Looks cool, and the Quartermaster sounds like he is about as crooked as they come. The magazine is worth at least ten times the amount they charge for it!

Chasm is... interesting, to say the least. Not my cup of tea, but it should appeal to the fans of Sliders and maybe Stargate.

Interesting as ten times zero is zero.  I definitely want to see more Spycraft in S&P and I want it in every issue!

I'd be satisfied with just a generic article next month. I think they should save the big guns, like this month's setting + 2 classes, for when there's a few months between releases.

I love the support for the stereotypical cocky Charisma based martial artist.
Backhand, Provoke, Stare Down & Strut are all evocative.

This is part of our big push for the "relaunch" of the game (what with not one but two print books in the very near future). Future issues will feature whatever's appropriate at the time. Smiley

Speaking of which, we're going to be looking to work with some non-staff to get future articles done, sometimes from our outlines and sometimes from submissions. We're going to be offering some compensation, most likely in the form of "DriveThru Dollars." If anyone's interested, drop one of us a line and we'll see about including you when we get to that point.

The biggest thing that stood out for the Martial Artist isn't actually the game-breaker, though it's pretty damn cool in it's own right. For me, it was this version of Master's Touch.

Can you say One-Finger Spear Charge?

Seriously.

As far as I can see, you can't add weapon tricks on weapons that don't match with Master's touch, though - no knife tricks on a spear attack, for example. Which puts the unarmed Martial Artist a little ahead in that regard, since he can choose from all unarmed and all weapon tricks for his unarmed attacks.

That's how I interpreted it too, but I figure it'll mostly balance out come World on Fire and the melee Moves and Supremacy feats.

Honestly letting you use tricks across weapon types like that would probably lead to a lot of suspension of disbelief breaking things like Thread the Needle with a straight razor or Hack! with a garrote or stuff like that.

You can absolutely mix and match across weapon feats.

Quote
Master’s Touch I: At Level 10, you may add 1 additional trick from any melee or unarmed “Basics” or “Moves” feat to one of your actions (for a total of 2 tricks from any of these feats). You may use this ability to add an unarmed feat trick to a melee attack or vice versa, ignoring all requirements for the weapon type used.

The limit you are looking for is tricks say what action they can be applied to, so you can't use a trick that modifies a grapple with a standard attack or apply a trick that appies to a Trip while Kicking for example. You could for example impale (from Sword Basics) somebody with your bare hand if you like (applying the impale trick to an standard unarmed attack). Or you could crush! (from Hammer Basics) somebody with a standard knife attack. It's basically making the concept of the melee and unarmed attack interchangable for the master. Likewise you could tighten the noose (from Garrote Basics) on somebody in a grapple without having a garrote.
