I'm looking forward to the new Flash Gordon series. They had a teaser during the series finale of Stargate SG-1, but I missed it (looked away from the TV), but I swore I heard the old bass riff from the Queen song.

There wasn't anything to the trailer - just the logo coming togther against a bed of stars - but I was really happy with the revamped Queen theme. It's exactly the kind of tone I want for this show. Smiley

It's a great tune.  From my favorite group ever.

Hmmm, my tastes in cartoons are older than I am - I like many of the old B&W cartoons. Back when I watched television I would tune in to Sunday Night Black and White on the Cartoon Network.

I am fond of much of the work of the Fleischer Brothers, some of the best animation ever made. Gabby the Liliputian made several appearances outside of the film Gulliver's Travels. Popeye and Betty Boop were other famous characters from the brothers.Part of my appreciation for these films is the animation itself... much higher than is common today.

I have had bad experiences with anime - disliking the plots of a majority that I have seen, and hating the low frame rates and poor tweening. A major exception has been Miyazaki - who has done some incredible work - high frame rates, good tweening, coherent plots, and characters who grow over the course of the films. Spirited Away is one of my favorite animated films of all time, third behind Snow White and Gulliver's Travels. A friend of mine very nearly forced me to watch My Neighbor Totoro, and I am glad that he did. Another made me watch Dragon Ball Z... one of these days I am going to kill him in his sleep.  Angry Everything I hate about anime rolled into one.

From television the original Johnny Quest was one of my favorites, and at times is downright Spycrafty. Smiley

Other favorites have already been mentioned, I will add the original (psychotic) Woody Woodpecker, Droopy, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Scooby Doo was one I watched a lot.  I especially liked the episodes that had Batman and Robin in them.  Speed Buggy was a favorite.  Blackstar was another one I remember.  Not a cartoon, but one I watched was The Shazam/Isis Hour.

Scooby Doo wasn't great but it was alright - until the show jumped the shark and exited to building when they introduced Scrappy

Bugs Bunny was my main diet of cartoons, followed by Woody Woodpecker and Heckle and Jeckle. (Good heavens I'm old).

Hanna Barbara cartoons was mine.  Was Mighty Mouse part of that?  Can't remember...

Mighty Mouse was done by Paul Terry, who also developed Heckle and Jeckle for Fox.

Oh, yes indeed. Smiley It is worth looking for his WWII animations if you can find them.

The Auld Grump, including one on the perils of V.D. if I recall correctly....
