*chuckle* No. The point is to make it desireable to enter pointman at other than career level 1. Making the class non-functional without the core ability would be a step backward Smiley. I've tuned the concept a bit further since this post. Watch for the Sage preview at some point.

Sages are super-dope. They've replaced the Lawman as the class I would probably play given a choice of any - but that's because I'm a crazy dabbler who tends to multi-class out the wazoo Smiley

I have a player who did that in LSpy but then he does it in every game he plays....

You might have heard of the small guy who was codenamed Chef? ... He wanted to make his 12th level feat Animal Partner so he could have monkey that wore a Chef's hat following him around.
