What is the company's take on porting the Dramatic Conflict mechanic to other gaming systems? The reason I'm asking is because I would like to use this board as a place to discuss such a conversion. If desired I could keep enough key information out of any public release such that you would need to own the core book in order to make sense of it.

For example, if a conversion had all these crazy mechanics specific to the destination game system but included a line stating "winning any around requires a number of successes equal to the original DC divided by 5" renders the conversion useless unless you know the original DCs.

Yes, I would like to put out a version that included full mechanics without needing to refer back to the original source. However, I realize that this is an innovative mechanic whose authors deserve both recognition and the right to profit from said innovation. As such I will be proceeding on the assumption that this is allowable if critical data such as the base DCs* are not included. (One stat I can remember off the top of my head, I'm sure others can be removed.)

And sure, I'd buy a PDF that contained nothing but a version of the DCon system I could port elsewhere. *cough* Smiley

Are you looking to sell this product, or just create a conversion kit for here on the boards?

Create a conversion for use in White Wolf's Scion game as a fan work only. There are so many things I want to port over to Scion that come from Spycraft, but d20 <-> WW conversions never seem to go that well. Wink

Why not just set it up here? Then you can assume everyone's got the book and you can focus solely on the new stuff.

That's what I'd like to do, I wanted your take on it first. Smiley Righty-o, will do that. Do I need to worry about posting all-in-one data in a complete conversion? My personal preference is to do that so that I don't have to look at the book during play, but as stated in the OP I can easily leave that out.

We would prefer that you leave it out, if you don't mind. Thanks!

No problem. I don't have the book handy but in the post that starts the whole thing I'll list what I believe should be left out. At the very least the DC tables.
