If you have personal lieutenant that is a Fixer, thus starting with Self Promoter as a core ability; would you and all the teammates acquire the networth or reputation bonus?
Also if you’re level 12 and thus your PL is level 6 and you give them Career Agent, would this also increase your rep or networth?

Looking at the feat...

Quote
Benefit: You may create 1 special character — your ‘personal lieutenant’ — with a career level equal to 1/2 your career level (rounded down, minimum 0). Your lieutenant’s attribute scores are assigned using 32 points. He benefits from an Origin, classes, skill points, feats, and Wealth, but gains no Wealth, mission gear, core abilities, contacts, Interests, or Subplots, and may never shift mission Caliber with any of his character options. A personal lieutenant’s starting number of action dice is always 1, and he may never gain additional action dice.

Your personal lieutenant is always considered one of your teammates and has a disposition toward you of Helpful.

Each time you gain 2 levels after taking this feat, your personal lieutenant gains 1 level. Your personal lieutenant may never gain the Animal Partner or Personal Lieutenant feats. Should your personal lieutenant die, you lose a number of Reputation equal to your career level, or an amount of Net Worth equal to this number × $50,000, as appropriate. The deceased lieutenant is replaced at the start of the following mission by a new NPC of your creation, following these rules.

So, no core ability. And if the PL has the Career Agent feat, the PL would get the rep bonus (so no joy there).

So they do not gain core abilities?   I figuered they would since they gain from classes.

Core abilities are for Big Damn Heroes.

PLs are just Damn Heroes.

We specifically excluded them because the PL is almost too good as is Smiley Getting a second character to run is just awesome - double actions, double gear picks, double attacks, a free Medicine/Stabilize check when you need it, bonus to outnumbering...very very handy. But double core abilities was deemed simply too good.

Still on the PL I really don't get this part of the feat phrasing:

He benefits from [...] Wealth, but gains no Wealth,

Does that mean he's stuck with level 1 wealth forever? Or that he gets class wealth but no charisma bonus, or the other way around? Huh?

Yes, you're right. I need to remind one of my playtesters about that Smiley

So you have to give him anything beyond his Possessions 1 (which is enough for a handgun and low grade body armor...). All things considered, having an extra set of hands to hold your spare weapons/gadgets/drive your car is pretty damn sweet. Just ask Batman, the Green Hornet, or Robin Hood.  Grin

Hmm...doesn't that unbalance personal lieutenants with the low gear & wealth progressions? I guess that's sorta mitigated by them having the core abilities that would be really great to have in a PL. I'm looking at the Scout, in particular.

Not to mention Han Solo, let's be honest Chewbacca is just his side kick. You mentioning Batman and therefore Robin, makes me think of the Teen Titans. And wondering on the concept of a game where the players have high level characters and all have Personal Lieutenant.  and the campaingn can run a threat level 18 adventure or a threat level 9, (ala are they playing their Justice League characters or their Teen Titan characters)

That's a great idea for a campaign, AD! Additionally, in their own halves of the game, each group could treat members of the other like Subplots.

I actually treated my LSpy character ring that way--the lower level guy had the higher level guy as his Contact.  It's fun flavor, and makes it easy to define the contact.

I don't normally try to bring a post back from the dead, but since my question was the same as an unanswered one in this thread, I decided to.

Quote from: Morgenstern on January 08, 2008, 06:24:16 PM

Like meadicus, I'm wondering how exactly does this work? Does the PL get the Wealth from his class when he is created and then it never ever changes? Does he get to add a Charisma bonus. When he gains levels later on will it go up from his classes?

I believe it means that PLs get a 1 Possessions, Lifestyle and Spending Cash, and can never improve, but I may be wrong.
