Eternals and Essence? (Spoilers)

Reading about the Eternals in WoF, I see that Essence effects are mentioned. What are these? Are there any rules for Essence effects, or can it be anything supernatural I'd like to put into the setting?

So who are the Eternals really? Are they focused in specific regions in the world, or are they everywhere? Are there any "official" theories on why they live forever? Any thoughts on that?

I thought the book stated the true reasons weren't known, though it did seem to indicate that eternals could appear anywhere (can't look now; no book here.)

Is there going to be an Eternals flags book, or is that just the Heroic factions and AEG? If there is one, I'd expect to see more on essence there.

From what's been said, the Flags series covers the 'heroic' factions, and AEG will be campaign book. I'm presuming that means AEG will be a mix of metaplot, GC eyes only stuff, adventure hooks, and NPC write ups.

What I really want to know is if I can simulate Essence with magic from Spellbound. Could an Eternal have levels in Channeling if I stretch it that far, or will it conflict blatantly with the setting canon?

I'm guessing that by "Essence" you mean "Edge," yes?

If so, then you can do whatever you like with it. It, and the Eternals, are intentionally vague in many ways - in particular their origins - so you can play. If you prefer, Spellbound would make a fine option.

AEG = Alliance of Evil Geniuses, the Franchise front group du jour. It'll be the last of the World on Fire PDF releases and set up a campaign for you to run/modify as you will, and will also close out the CCG storyline for fans of that property.

There is no Eternals PDF planned.

Yes, it might be the Edge. It's described as Essence in World on Fire (Sidebar One Secret, Many Lies).

Of course, the Alliance of Evil Geniouses. Nice name. A bit over-the-top, but nice.
