Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. extended trailer

I'll have to wait until I can get it on DVD or find if ABC will offer it online in my area  Sad

That is a much, much better trailer than the one shown during Once Upon a Time.

Lols to "someone really wanted to spell SHIELD."

Any bets that the super-powered black guy in the trailer is Luke Cage? Didn't we have a discussion a while back about a TV show that could showcase Marvel's street level heroes?

Ray Harryhausen, visionary special effects and stop-motion animation pioneer

We will be living in your long and glorious shadow for many generations to come, good sir. Go and dream of things we can't imagine without you.

Next game I'm running is going to have skeleton warriors in his honor. Or maybe a giant statue... or a hydra... or dinosaurs... or...
3  Products / Spycraft Third Edition / Re: SC 3.0 Q. What do you get when you have a Red Tiger as a Pretexted Secretary? on: April 27, 2013, 08:19:55 AM
YES! A long con should totally be a dramatic conflict. Basically any con job that takes more than a single interaction to pull off. This kind of social engineering could totally be run as a long con.

By the way, I kinda like the idea of "security protocols" being your opponent (not just for this, for a number of Dramatic Conflicts this could work). What you could do is have the defending organization basically just pick its strategies (in secret) in advance, maybe like five at a time, because the open ended nature of DCs, then the player has the opportunity to try and figure out what its strategy is based on its "program" and counteract it.
4  Products / Spycraft Third Edition / Re: [RESEARCH] What do you love most about the Pointman? on: April 27, 2013, 08:09:41 AM
I'm going to be a heretic here and say that I think that the Pointman has a problem, in that it's trying to be two things that don't necessarily overlap.

I love the flexibility of the class, with CCA and the class skill selection.

I also love the ability to bring support to other members of your team, to not be useless even if you aren't the star player.

However, I think that those two aspects don't necessarily go together, and I'd like to see two different classes more focused on those aspects. I think right now the pointman is diluted by trying to serve both masters. To be honest, I'd probably never play the "support" role but I'd play the flexible class more often. But the main reason I'd never play the support one, as of current, is that I think the timers on the support abilities are too long. Most of the per session abilities should be per scene, for example.

That's just my $0.02

I remember reading an article a while back on how Wanda and Pietro could be used in the Avengers. They couldn't have their current codenames (Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver), there can be no mention that they are mutants and thus no mention of their heritage.

Which as a storyteller makes for plenty of room to play with. Additionally, it can be set up that if somehow in the future there can be a X-Men/Avengers crossover, it'll be a perfect play for one of them to "betray" one group or the other.

It's workable, and if anyone can make it work it'll be Josh. (I like his reaction to Shane Black's Iron Man, in which it will push him to do better. Which is also DC's failing. There's no one to push Nolan.)

Hmm, what I read said that Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch could both be used by both Fox and Marvel, but Fox couldn't mention that they're Avengers, and Marvel can't mention that they're mutants or that their father is Magneto.

As for "Where were they during the New York invasion?" Transia. Wink

Frankly I think the Scarlet Witch would work better as a mysterious sorceress than the "mutant with magic-like powers" that she is in most continuities.
As far as Pietro goes... I never liked him as a character. His personality is abrasive and two dimensional, his power is... lets just say he's a bad Flash knockoff power wise. His costume is awful; so is his hair. As far as I'm concerned he's a satellite character to his sister, which is nice for a change, most of the time it's the woman who's the satellite in that situation.

Even better some sort of street-level view of Marvel New York with a couple different heroes rotating through.

Yes. This. 100 times this. Daredevil, Electra, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, (we can throw in Misty Knight and Coleen Wing if we want to have all the Heroes for Hire crew... chicks with katanas are big now, right?), Moon Knight... you could even through in some D-listers like Prowler and Cloak and Dagger (though the episodes with C&D would blow the budget for the season...). If Marvel ever gets the rights to Spider-Man back you could have him show up once a season... Heck, the Punisher would work on this scale too.
You could do it like Heroes with a bunch of different storylines that all overlap and intertwine...

EDIT: Also, I'm jealous that some of you got to see IM3 already. It doesn't come out here for another week (one week, 18 hours, to be slightly more accurate). Sad

I remember the old AEG boards. Good times. I remember trying to dissect the hints and teasers Pat, Alex, and Scott would make about SC2.0.
I don't post around here often enough anymore Sad

Damn. I came into this thread hoping to find a topic about heavily armed power armor...

Morgenstern, one more set of characters that you have to be able to emulate or else you've failed: Sneakers.

EDIT: Added link.

But if the cards are made of metal then Ruin wouldn't be able to read them. A conundrum. A riddle for the ages. Or maybe they play something else. Like, say, FantasyCraft.
Seriously though, I imagine The Lord Ruler spends most of his days dealing with reports from the Steel Ministry, and settling squabbles within the higher ranks of the ministry. Such as the scene we see at the end of the first book where the Inquisitor's bring Vin's dad in for judgement.
Probably also reads a lot.

PETA for the humane treatment of Zerglings.

Yeah, it's a thing.  PETA sure has been aiming for the gaming crowd as of late...

Hmm... yeah, the analogy sucks. Zerglings without the control of an Overlord are mindless killing machines. Zerglings under the control of an Overlord actively want to exterminate you. You don't make nice with things that are actively trying to kill you.

So, here's a quick example of what I'm thinking of.

WARCHIEF
You are blessed of the ancestors, or even a reincarnation of them, and are destined to lead with great power.
Prerequisites: Any "Horde" feat (Eastern, Northern, Southern, Western, etc.)
Benefit: You may apply your Appearance bonus to Intimidate and all your NPC companions gain a grade of tough. Also, select one path from Chaos, Earth, Strength, War, Wilderness. When you gain a feat from your Career Level you may instead take a step along this path if after selecting class abilities your step will be no greater than one-half your Career Level, rounded up. Your Caster Level is considered equal to you Career Level for any benefits from these steps.

Add "Orc" or Orcish" to the start of the feat name - You don't want to accidentally tie up the term Warchief when you might need it again laterl. Would add "without additonal XP cost" to the Tough benefit - your intent is clear but better to say it than have confusion at the other end. Should be an 'or' separting the last path in the list. I'd encourage shortening the list to 4 paths to promote tighter theme and slightly estrict the power being offered. Otherwise looks like a very promising use of the new technology.

But what about all the poor wittle gobwins who want to take it?

35,700. Juuuust above the "most adults" range. Having two Scrabble loving parents plus lots of gaming experience helps. Reading lots helps too.

Do they actually need a size increase? Or could you get away with just giving them a con boost and Improved Stability?
