Right. But the Lucasfilm sale was months ago and Mr. Freeborn hasn't worked on Star Wars since RotJ and he was ninety-eight.
I mean, if JJ Abrams announced he was abandoning CGI characters in favour of muppets or, heck, someone declared they wanted to remake Dr. Strangelove that might qualify as ironic.

[quote author=Mister Andersen link=topic=6870.msg121944#msg121944 The new prominence of Azog doesn't surprise me -- Jackson showed with Lurtz and again with the cancerous albino in the LotR trilogy that he likes to present a visually distinctive focal sub-villain where they otherwise don't exist instead of just relying on the scenery porn. [/quote]
I have not watched the film but couldn't the same effect be achieved by introducing Bolg sooner? That would involve less change to the canon even if you had Thorin rather than Dáin kill Azog at Azanulbizar and could still reach an appropriate climax at the Battle of Five Armies.

I reworked Ruins of Adventure (the module based on Pool of Radiance) into the rebuilding of Dale for my daughters over the summer; next they are asking for Iron Kingdoms, probably will be an Orgoth occupation styled take on the Hunger Games.
Right now I'm running a Rokucraft campaign in The Second City which has borrowed from the Jade Regent adventure path, the Curse of the Golden Spear modules and a few LBS plot hooks.
Also, I am drafting an Apocalypse Now/ Temeraire mash up. My brother suggested using 7th Sea as the setting since it already has a Napoleon analogue but Cloak & Dagger looks promising as well.

Almost forgot I posted this. 100% sarcasm I am a well-honed, acid-spewing banter machine. Thanks for the compliment, ThunderMonkey. *bows*

5E increases balance and maximises rules space by eliminating end user character creation in favour of pre-gens of selected archetypes for each class. Players will be able to get into the action immediately and will certainly appreciate the simplicity of the revamped D&D Insider's auto-leveling program. More characters will become available monthly in splatbooks grouped by theme or by campaign setting. (No more Drizzt clones! Play as Drizzt!) Also, an exciting new line of miniatures called D&D Heroes will include a code to download a sheet for the represented character.

I followed your link earlier this morning. The listing had an expected ship date of 09/18/2012 and a B&N price of $19.95 marked down from a MSRP of $29.95. No item description but it did have an ISBN which I wish now that I had saved since my browser cache doesn't seem to have it and I never owned 3.5 to reference.

Would it break anything to allow PCs a free Study related to the skill in lieu of taking a new focus? I'm not sure if I saw this suggested elsewhere.

take away their fire breath (since it really doesn't fit) Despite clashing with the tropes established in previous games, arctic drakes with fire breath does make sense to an evolutionary viewpoint. Why would dragons, typically the ultimate predator in their environment, have an attack form to which many indigenous creatures would be naturally resistant?

Glacier-born Dwarf Corsair Lancer that rides a flying fiery shark that shoots bears what are also on fire.
Back on topic, I used a hippogriffon air corps in my FR/Spelljammer campaign. One of the PCs was a ranger and served as the animal master. Another was chief of security which would probably become Warden in a conversion (selecting Indoor/Settled for Pathfinder Basics to get Sneak DR).

Alternatives to the Druid include the Miner, Ranger and Warden. Each will get you a 65xp mount with the selection of a Terrain feat at level 1 and Lancer as your base class. There might be home-brew specialties that grant a Terrain feat as well. The only example of Terrain Expert that I could find was Glacier Born Dwarves, which are probably as much a stretch as Miner for your concept.
