Refresh my memory: the T-600 were the Arnie-model, yes?

I'm in favor of being quiet as long as possible. I'm not terribly stealthy myself, but there's a lot of difference between being sneaky and not managing vs going in all guns blazing. Unfortunately, I don't see a lot of cover on that picture, so maybe a distraction is in order.

For now, I'm against splitting up. I don't think either shooter+techie team alone stands a chance against a T-600; if we stay together, we should be able to bring them down. If the plan is to engage, we want to catch them separately. I have a feeling that they are constantly communicating with base, so if we take one out, the rest of the base will be immediately on alert.

I think you should make a Tactics check, and I'll assist, if that's any help. Anybody else with Tactics can weigh in, too.  Glim, how do you usually do Tactics checks? Have us make a plan and use the Tactics roll to see how good it is, or do we roll Tactics to figure out what the best plan is?

Is there any chance of me being able to shut down the machines' communication if I get to a transmitting station that's powerful enough? I don't think the laptop has enough juice.

Patches finishes his review of th situation with "... I can only see two, but there should be more. And probably intrusion detection. IR, which we can see with the nightvision binoculars, maybe tripwires. Possibly mines, but I guess we'll be OK if we follow the large treads. The dust cloud from the trucks should die down in a bit. Maybe we should throw tarps on the trucks for now, and make sure we have a way to get out."

Patches scans the area once more, his eyes following the large tracks down to the power plant. He idly does some guesstimates to the width and total length of tracks, the depth they sunk into the ground, and comes up with a ballpark number for the weight of what went towards the power plant. Or, at least, weight as a function of track length.

I am currently on travel and will post more detailed IC tomorrow. Patches can drive the front vehicle.

When we get to the point where we can oversee the area, I'd like to stop and take a look with my own binoculars (Search). I will then offer some tactical advice (Assist Tactics, likely Peppers), and I would also like to see if there is some wireless chatter from the machines (receive only, no active sending). I assume that I can at least see that they are communicating, but probably won't be able to see what they say. No chatter either means no communication, or they are using directional methods.

I will use 'Professor' at the start of the mission to share my skill feats.

I think the ones that matter are Notice and Search.

I'd be especially interested how either of you would handle the psykers.

It seems pretty straightforward: use ability checks, spend power points, and on a critical failure roll on the Warp table.

I was just curious if/how you integrated the psyker power levels.

Midichlorians being attracted to force users would have been interesting. What I hated was that he made the ability to use the Force into something you solely have to be infested born with rather than can learn to use.

See, that's how I always thought it was from the very start.

*EDIT* For the record though, I still think that mitochondria Midichlorians are fucking dumb.

I'm sure there are a lot of things there that Lucas never thought about: if it's all about the mito Midichlorian (what a dumb name, too) concentration in your blood, can you get a transfusion from a Jedi to become a Jedi yourself? Can you concentrate your own blood samples to boost force power? Can you slaughter lots and lots of Jedis, concentrate their Midithingies, inject them into yourself and become the Uberjedi?

Have you thought about using something like racial feats to cover the Space Marine chapters?

Seems to me you might want the option of a Specialty for Space Marines, so that it's easier to go into the Apothecary/Assault Marine/Librarian etc branches, or do you think class should cover that?

Incidentally, I must have missed glim's original book. Could someone point e to it?

I've actually been thinking of introducing an AD pool for the table; rather than individuals getting bonus AD for cool stuff, the players receive it as a common resource they can draw on once they've expended their own pool.

Warhammer RPG 3rd has a good mechanism to address this: everybody starts out with their own pool of 3 dice, but when anybody does something cool, the GM puts a die in the group pool, and when the group pool reaches a certain threshhold (typically 3), then everybody gets their personal pool refreshed. This encourages more teamwork, and it also makes players blow through their own pool faster, since you don't get any benefit from hoarding the dice, all the while attempting cooler things that move the story along.

I'm ready.

Am I reading correctly that the dummy has 18 Wounds and the Soldier does 1d12+8?

With average rolling, you'll need two crits then to kill the dummy, bringing your lethal swings up to 20 if you're simplifying the probabilities, which is worse than the subdual.

What am I missing?

Push comes to shove you can really have as much as you like, within reason. I mean, its not like you'll get to keep it...  Roll Eyes

Ah, I was under the impression we'd be in the future for a while.

Updated Patches' description and equipment. I was under the impression we only get Wis number of other items, so I initially only took binoculars. I'd rather have the Medkit if I can't have both, and if I can have more stuff, a bag of tools and an explosive kit (x lbs of C4, 4 remote dets, 4 wire detonators) would be cool.

Check out this site:

The stats look like what you find on the Transformers profiles on the packages.

Looks like Gatac (the person who recruited for the Shinobi game a while back) and his friends have done quite a bit of brainstorming. I haven't read much on the parent forum, but it looked like they had a campaign going for a while.
