LK,

Indeed!  It was a great game.  And I was said "Captain Fang-Face Smiley"

2  Products / Fantasy Craft / GenCon Game Fun! on: August 19, 2012, 09:21:37 PM
I've GM'd Fantasy Craft about a half a dozen times, running through one of the adventures in Time of High Adventure, and then starting off a Iron Kingdoms/FC game that ran until I wanted to "step back" and get my ideas and such down on paper, as well as wait until Spellbound came out to flesh out the magic portion of it.

I had the first opportunity to actually play the game at GenCon, at the Friday night slot.  I had an excellent time! One other person besides the GM had played in the past, and everyone else present were new to the system.  The GM was awesome, and the story was well written and challenging to boot.

So, to the folks at Crafty Games, thanks for your hard work and dedication, and I'm looking forward to future gaming with FC!  Now, just to convince one of the players to pick up the reigns and run it so that I can play! Smiley

I got the opportunity to speak to Alex at GenCon.

First Impression?  Super nice dude.  Anyone that can sit and discuss the game as passionately as he did with me for the brief time we spoke gets a big thumbs up from me!

In regards to Spellbound, they're still working on it.  No time frame given, but just his reassurance that they're working on it diligently!

I would imagine that there is some sort of damage immunity?  For example, if I'm hacking at a stone door 1 ft thick, that sword blade isn't going to do much..however a hammer or other blunt instrument might.  Is this factored in some how?  House ruled?

Thanks,

I know that locked secret doors can be opened by use of Prestidigitation.  I'd imagine a secret door (once found) could be forced open by brute strength (making a helluva lot of noise in the process), but I'm overlooking the rules for this.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks a million,

7  Products / Fantasy Craft / Character Sheet in Word/Text format? on: July 13, 2011, 11:54:23 PM
Folks,

I currently am running a Fantasy Craft game (hosted on Obsidian Portal).  I'm looking for a good Word/text based character sheet to use for tracking characters.  I've requested a "Dynamic Character Sheet" be made for Fantasy Craft, however, I'm not optimistic that it'll be done.  I'd do it myself, however, my CSS, HTML, and Java programming skills are relatively non-existent.  Anyone have a basic character sheet in Word, or even Excel, that they'd be willing to share?

I found the same thing with my first go around with the previous stats I had come up with.  DR3 with 2 edged resistance slashing really slowed the fight down.  Leather armor and an armored greatcoat.  I think I'll adopt the same stance as you on this.  Thanks again.

Is your Armored Greatcoat, et. al. stackable as far as DR goes?

The reason I didn't hand them them the padded armor is because it never occurred to me!  Many thanks, Aegis!!!!

Folks,

Working on my IK conversion for FC, and I needing some assistance.  Greatcoats are an iconic part of the IK (with greatcoats of various types worn over armor of all sorts), however, I think the way I've stated them is likely to overpowering.  Requesting help on getting them back in line as to not make PCs to powerful....

My stats

Greatcoat: A relatively newcomer to the Iron Kingdoms, greatcoats are valued due to their resistance to cold and rain. Made of heavy wool or light leather with several inner and outer pockets, they also provide minimal protection against attack. They can be worn over other forms of light armor, with the DR, DP, ACP, and Speed penalties combining.

Greatcoat (Moderate Light Armor)
DR: 1
Resistances: Cold 2
DP: 0
ACP: 0
Speed: 0
Disguise: 0
Construction: Soft 2
Comp: 5D
Weight: 5 lbs
Era: Reason
Cost: 40 s

Greatcoat, Armored: As with the greatcoat above, but having been reinforced with flexible metal plates or chain mail around the shoulders and body. As such, they are more encumbering, but offer better protection.

Greatcoat, Armored (Moderate Light Armor)
DR: 2
Resistances: Cold 2, Edged 2
DP: -1
ACP: 0
Speed: 0
Disguise: 0
Construction: Soft 2
Comp: 12D
Weight: 10 lbs
Era: Reason
Cost: 160 s

Greatcoat, Reinforced: As with the standard greatcoat, but having been reinforced with boiled leather plates around the shoulders, arms, and body of the coat.

Greatcoat, Reinforced (Moderate Light Armor)
DR: 1
Resistances: Cold 2, Edged 2
DP: 0
ACP: 0
Speed: 0
Disguise: 0
Construction: Soft 2
Comp: 7D
Weight: 7 lbs
Era: Reason
Cost: 100 s

What would you do to bring them more in line?

Looks like something that I might buy, then, as I am running in the Iron Kingdoms and need some additional fluff for Corvis and other cities.

Thanks SnowDog for the link to the supplement!

I've not heard of it SnowDog, although it'd be something I'd be interested in seriously picking up for my FC/IK crossover, esp. if it helps with city RP.
