The same may become true for wounds if a caster applies the Mage’s spell secret ability to Cure Wounds I, making it a Level 0 spell for him (see page XX and Fantasy Craft, page 44). The Careful Casting trick from the Spell Conversion: Casting Time feat can produce the same effect (see Fantasy Craft, page 107).

Is that correct? Or is this changing? I thought the "min. 1" for the the spell conversion feats meant you couldn't get spell point free spells out of them.

Just weighing in on the whole xp issue...

As a player, I for one like to receive xp, it gives a sense of progression and that I am earning something instead of it just being handed to me.

As a GM, I do not mind distributing it, any more than silver, reputation, or other loot/treasure.

Actually... I've heard more people complain about 'loot sessions' than anything else. Usually from players even, not GMs.

The Last Guardian is finally happening.

I've read somewhere that the original whedon cut was 1 hour longer. I keep wondering how that would have looked... This gives a few answers to that...

It was announced before the theatrical release that there will be an 'extended cut' version of the Blu-Ray. There is also an alternate ending, which some think may just be the stinger put in after the credits.

I'm curious and maybe this can answered, maybe not.

I was looking at my copy of the Spellbound Gencon Preview and I was wondering how much the classes that appeared in it had changed at all in the interim time?

They probably haven't changed at all or just in small details.
After all, those classes are mechanically complete and oh so damn awesome. Cool

I still looking forward to giving the Trickster and the reworked Chaneller a spin. Grin
God damn, those Chanellers kicked ass and took names left, right and center. Evil
And that was just the converted Spycraft version.

True, I don't actually expect that they had changed significantly, or at all. But they could have written up new Shaper's Lore or Ferryman's Lore, etc. Or tweaked one ability or another. The  preview has been round for a while now so maybe new things had been introduced.

Mostly it's just idle curiosity until the Spellbound rollout begins.

New Deus Ex game coming. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Looks like a direct sequel to Human Revolution, you still play as Jensen even. I'm curious to see what the 'canon' ending is for HR.

I... might be missing the point but, this is almost word for word the same spell from Pathfinder.

It's a neat spell and I wouldn't mind seeing it in FC but, some of the wording will change, right? Like "melee touch attack rolls"?

I just got back from seeing The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies at my local(ish) cinema. Here are my spoiler-free thoughts...

  • It doesn't feel like 144 minutes worth of screen time. Things move at a fairly rapid pace from the first scene.
  • Yes, it deviates from the story presented in the book. By now that should be no surprise to anyone.
  • While it does differ, just about everyone ends up where they're supposed to.
  • We've already heard it, but Billy Boyd's song is an excellent way to close out the series.
  • Not all of the dwarfs get a chance to shine (don't worry, there's no Bombur: Barrel Warrior), but most of the supporting cast did.
  • Dain.

Yes, Dain was awesome.

But... well I'll put this behind a spoiler just in case.

I have a question about the Skirmisher's 'On Deadly Ground' ability. The saving throw for it is 10 + Class level, which seems a little odd compared to other abilities, most are a combination of three factors: Base 10 + class level + ability mod/feats. But, this ability uses just the class level and thus caps out at 20. I am curious if that was intentional or if a piece got left out.

Where is the Spellbound Preview with the Reaper and Conjurer?

It was made available to the people that preordered.

I can't even imagine how an American Diabetic survives.
As a type 2 diabetic it's not easy, believe me.

It's not just sugar for diabetics either, carbohydrates are bad as well because they break down into sugar. They are not as bad as sugar, they elevate your blood glucose levels for longer but not by as much. So, whole grains and stuff preferably, little to no noodles (I miss spaghetti...). The holidays can suck, everyone eating sweets and candies... I still drink some diet sodas though, not a lot and I avoid any caffeinated sodas because the diabetes messes with your blood pressure as well (technically, I am prehypertension).  Oh yeah, sodium... that's not good either, which is also in everything (including that soda).

So yeah, it sucks being a diabetic.

13  Products / Mistborn Adventure Game / Pewterarm Koloss Blooded on: August 21, 2014, 01:42:58 AM
I was looking at the Koloss-blooded stunts in Alloy of Law and noticed that some of them are very similar to some of the benefits and/or stunts for Pewter. I am curious how some of these would stack? Specifically Powerful Legs and Rapid Healing.

Powerful Legs provides the same boosts to speed as burning pewter does, with the exception of the bonus Steps during a Beat. How would the 'overland' speed be affected if a Koloss-blooded with this stunt were burning pewter? What if he also had the Extreme Speed pewter stunt as well, which gives greater 'overland' speed as well as the bonus Steps per beat.?

Rapid Healing is the same as burning pewter, it doubles your healing rate. Is this doubling the double, so x4 healing? or maybe just x3, increasing the multiplier by 1?
14  Products / Mistborn Adventure Game / Re: Koloss Twinborn on: August 16, 2014, 04:16:28 PM
I wanted a clarification, because the table on page 104 allows Koloss-blooded with Allomancy/Feruchemy to become Twinborn:
(Humans or koloss-blooded with Allomancy or Feruchemy only)
Whereas page 107 lists it as human only. Does the game allow Koloss-blooded to become Twinborn?

I would say yes they can. I don't remember it ever being explicitly stated in the novels if Koloss-blooded can or cannot be Twinborn. While rare, Koloss-blooded can be Mistings or Ferrings, so I don't see why one of them couldn't have both abilities because the heritage is obviously there. You would be an exceedingly rare individual, possibly unique even, given the rarity of Allomancy or Feruchemy in Koloss-blooded. It does look like it could only happen during play though, and not at character creation. I may just be an accidental typo/omission.

That's just my 2 cents though, not sure of the official answer.

Tact-Tiles modular wet/dry erase gaming surface. Basically an alternative battle-mat for those that use them. They have an option for tiles with a printed grid and blank tiles.
