I remember a game i gmed in Rapan Athuk... I killed a character 3 times in one night (mostly on accident) Ring of teleport other + Pool of Lava. Reincarnation from the l5r d20 source book (still my favorite shugenja spell) Oh, then there was the quickling... I used to game/work in a bookstore, we were looking for some crazy npc to throw at a party of super heroes, and the quickling was it... the archer rolled a natural 20, and max damage, poor lil guy never stood a chance past its initial wtf surprise attack on the party

I found I needed to adjust my thoughts...
Walter
Can we post this as a helpful first step in Fantasy Craft-fu? Adjust Your thoughts, what you know, is not what you know... what you think is not what you think... what was, is not what is. So much of adjusting to Fantasy Craft can be summed up with.. Adjust your thoughts

And if you don't want to purchase World on Fire just for the Martial Artist class (though it has lots of other espionage-related goodies), you could always download the full class preview from signs & portents here. That looks really fun. Dedicated Martial Artists in FC (at least in Western Styles) are covered pretty well by Soldier and the available feats, but it looks like pointyman could definitely use that for his Wuxia campaign. Way to hook a guy up, Antilles. This Martial Artist base class looks awesome. I guess all I have to do now is add an appropriate columns for Lifestyle and Legend (maybe the one from the Soldier Class), and we're good to go! Damn, now I'm tempted to pick up SC 2.0 and World on Fire on PDF... Each class in SC as well as FC has there numerical bonuses rated, low is 0 points, medium is 1 point, and high is 2 points. (its pretty easy to figure out which is which at a glance, then you just add them up... to convert the Martial artist, add up its BAB/FORT/REF/WILL/INIT/DEF points, and see how many you have left, then find the appropriate pointed Lifestyle and Legend (though the wealth should become lifestyle pretty easily) There might also be conversion notes on the forums or in the wiki..

It frames it appropriately, allows for further tweaking... In fact, you could probably script it like the Miracles, and Sorcery campaign qualities, where you can choose what aspects of the over arching quality you want to add.. Shape shifting easier or harder? add that on, everyone have a second shape? add that on Only one race has two shapes? ect

Campaign Quality. Hidden Species The following Species have an alternate Human Form. This form is a 25xp Medium Folk NPC. Changing into either form takes 3 full round actions, and leaves the character [insert condition here] for - rounds as they reorient to the new shape.
Non hidden species gain [insert appropriate benefit here] Hows that?

You did notice there are Chocobos, did you? I haven't read through the beastiary, been to busy looking through the origins, and classes... when I get my murdered rootwalker version, i will see more things like that >.>

Also, fear the frinja.
There is no frinja. We are a hedge. Move along.. We are Guardians and Elders and Ariel, we whisper, we sing. The Fringe screams.

Spellbound, uses the schools pretty heavily, as each class in spellbound, is a specialist caster, rather than a generalist caster.
