Nine meters is about 10 feet.  Meters x 3.2808 if you really want to be excessively precise.
According to google..
1 meter = 3.2808399 feet
so 9 X3.28=29.52
or 30 feet Smiley

9m is 30 feet, roughly.

Oh yeah, but you don't want to do encounters around beating a specific PC. But IIRC with the lumbering he is flanked with 2 enemies next to him, does that mean he looses guard then?
Hey now, just because an ambush happens to shut down the Towershield wielding tree... doesn't mean he was the reason for the ambush...

Well I gave the FC book to one of my more min/max players to peruse and he came back with a rootwalker 'defendinator'. Multi-armed, mist-branched soldier with shield Mastery at level three. So he is armed with 5 tower shield (giving a guard of 25) and using his slam III (2d8 damage, off the top of my head).

He was quite surprised when I said 'go for it'; I will run the game for a few goes before I start denying options. Be interesting to see if I can actually hit him when we play after finishing our 4E campaign....
Is Sorcery in play? If So, call lightning II a few times Smiley
If not, just work around him... ambushes are good, because you lose guard bonuses when flat footed, ect.. you can also let him play tank to let his build shine when you aren't pointing out that its a bit flawed Smiley

According to a local news station it is like "Grand Theft Auto meets World of Warcraft". It looks interesting, and it is nice to see a modern day MMO setting without superheroes.

I was sold until I saw the EA logo.

Because of their monopolistic hold on NFL video games and by producing crappy ones (Madden), there is a ban of all EA products in my house.
So you passed on Dragon Age and Mass Effect?

The big thing about martial arts, as a feat, is that it only becomes a must have if the GM is now letting the non combat characters shine, out of combat.  or if the squishy character is simply trying to not be super squishy, because combat is ruling all.

As for weapon finesse, the idea is to reduce the viability of stat dumping, by making all stats useful as often as possible.  Even in using the trick from practice makes perfect, you are denying yourself other tricks, (unless you take levels in edgemaster) which reduces the amount of "cool" you can do, by focusing on a single attribute.

Also, if you are truly worried about gimping your combat potential, by not investing heavily in strength,  look at the defense tables in the npc section, to get an idea of what your to hit needs to be for better than even odds of success against a defense X npc.

What I honestly think is holding back wave, is that there isn't a non web based interface yet.  If it was like other IM clients, where you could have it running in the background, and when a new wave came in, be instantly aware of it, it would probably be better.  Even if the client just dinged, like the old AOL You've got Mail tone.
