I think The Wire was actually remade into the Snoop while the original Snoop was made into the Hacker.
Looking at it I think you're right. It had been a while since I pulled out some of my spycraft classic books.

One of my players loves armored dwarves, but it's seems to him that in FC for a Dwarf character doesn't worth to wear armor, at least at low levels, due to the Thick Hide. I offered him to change Thick Hide for something of similar value (using the wiki). There is something we are missing?
Dwarf thick hide is sort of insanely high. That said, this only discourages them from wearing leather armor, for the most part. They do fine either shirtless or in heavy metal armor. Also, resistances stack just fine with DR, so cheap armor may take the edge off certain attacks even if it overlaps. Padded armor, chainmail, studded leather, and plate still offer considerable benefits. Also consider - A Dwarven Tribesman with Armour Supremacy and Draconic Heritage. Walking around naked with DR7 - thats Articulated Plate [with Armour Supremacy] - he also can't be coup de grace'd or sneak attacked, even while completely naked and helpless. Not to be sneered at. No on topic, a question: When attacking with a skill [Sword Mastery, Bow Supremacy etc] which threat range do I use? The weapons? The Skills? If its the skills threat range and I have a magic item of attack threat boost do I boost my skills threat range with it? Also if I threat and have Legendary Skill Mastery can I activate the critical hit for free [or more accurately 1 less action die]?

Products / Fantasy Craft / Re: Any Of You FC Players Familiar With GURPS 4E?

Another difference... Characters in GURPS tend to be very easy to be hit or killed. FC, and d20 in general, characters tend to be more resilient.
It really depends on what you're going for.
That depends on the character design assumptions and the optional rules used. In some GURPS games, death would be almost unknown. Very true - conversely take Doomed Heroes, Fragile Heroes and Hewn Limbs and see how long FC characters last if they charge in without thinking. Players will learn to fear combat.

Take a deep breath, everyone. Pat and I have said N-O-T-H-I-N-G about what is or what's not going in Spycraft 3rd. Try to not get too worked up about the failure of the gear system, or how the game can't possibly support what you want to do with it, or whatever, before you see facts from us Surely you guys aren't surprised at the reaction though? Or at least not totally surprised. Though this thread sure did explode between me leaving for Uni this morning and getting home tonight. Wonder what tomorrow morning has in store.

The best spy-based news for computer games right now is Perfect Dark on XBLA tomorrow. Personally, I can't wait to get back into that spy-FPS. Blocky or not, outside of GoldenEye it was one of the first, best first person games, with aliens, spies and some of the most fun multiplayer I had in my youth.
What happened to all those rumours of Goldeneye hitting XBLA with full live multiplayer? Or was that a crazy fever dream of mine?

I think its important to recognise the impact of 10kb on SC3 - alot of the decision making will be simultaneous for the two products. I'm not saying they will reprint vast swathes of material, but knowing "this is how we're gonna treat modern stuff" gives them a huge step up on both products at once. Which Pat alluded to in the state of the company post. So I don't think its going to take up as much development time as some folks are suggesting. Some time yes, but it won't be a 10 ton rock they have to tow.

I'm willing to bet that running the genre's you mentioned will be as easy with SpyCraft 3rd as it is with SC 2.0. Probably easier, what with modular content from other MasterCraft books - you want some fringe, import it from FC, horrors from beyond with spell like abilities - Natural Spell is ready to go. Gear up from any book that suits the game.

[Thrusts out hand][/i] Got it! It was Godspawn and "epic fantasy" setting set in a 'post'-Ragnarok world. Swords of the Zodiax seemed to be one of Scott's babies, and I believe he kept it. Maybe Godspawn was just the one world with the least material completed, or there's only so much room in a print release. The latter. What we have planned for Godspawn is far too big to couple with the other three. It's also a lot more complicated (and, admittedly, fringe), so pushing it out past this schedule is the best call on every front. Kinda Dark-Inheritance-ey? Makes sense to not include it, especially if it needs alot of its own mechanical support.

Are you lads planning a future update document for 2.0 pdf's? To keep using saturday morning spycraft next year for instance.
If the question is whether we're planning to release official conversion material from Spycraft 2.0 to Spycraft Third, then the answer is, sadly, no. It's just not feasible for us to do that and focus on the new products that everyone craves. We are not, however, opposed to unofficial conversion material, and in fact have a forum that's tailor-made for it (among other things). Shan't be a problem. I look forward to figuring out how to convert and add the bits and pieces that don't make it into 3.0. From experiance so far [OoTS: Classic fantasy -> FC, Spellbound, a few classes from 2.0 -> FC] it's looking pretty straightforward, as Alex said. I've actually been looking forward to this since the first announcement of Mastercraft as a unified system, back in mid '08.

On another note, I'm most curious if the book will feature alternate wealth systems, to allow both Panache / Prudence, and gear pick type gearing up.
After a fashion. Third will support multiple gear schemes to allow for various home office configurations, much like Fantasy Craft supports customizable Alignments. Neat. Some game types I could see say deep cover agents being on a agency stipend and having to source their equipment from black markets and the like. Others I could see it being more like traditional spycraft. So who what will the final two columns of the class ability list be called?
Some secrets will only be revealed as we close on release. You can't blame him for trying can you? I could totally see Legend remaining, for prizes and stuff, and Lifestyle becomming...Lifestyle? Guess this is why I pay you guys for the goods, not the other way around.
