When it comes to weapon stats we all have our ideas of what is what, based to a larger or smaller degree of real world knowledge and personal preferences. I always, always, much about with any complex weapon description in RPGs. They never sit well with me. I maybe wrong or right or unrealistic, but as long as it is balanced who cares?

The first thing that jumped out at me from FC? Long Bows don't need Forte, WTF? You have to be trained from puberty or earlier to be really good with these.

I agree with a lot of your points so change away Cheesy

Good luck with Spellbound 'Mysterious Stranger"...  Cheesy

For me this is like Pathfinder's/3.xE's magic item shoppe idea. As soon as it is not on the basic equipment list then you have to find someone selling or making such items. Well within the DM's purview, and beyond crude or superior, that won't be easy.

That is how I would rule it too.

Knife basics is so useful, being armed with all your knives on your person. So if you have a collection of different knives you have: Bleed, hurl, guard, lure, hook, keen, finesse, grip, excruciating, trip, and AP there to use when you need it. So much fun!

The problem going with small weps more attacks you have to, IMO, also implement a larger weps get a hit first when closing type of rule. No way your getting a dagger into me when I am waiting with a long sword! See Hackmaster 5 for that, although I guess there are some rules for that in some D&D supplement too Wink

FC has such a great array of options that can be made into combat beasts. The guys here will give you great advise on how to make whatever concept you want. I don't play FC (cos I play with my kids and it is too complex) so I am not up enough with the system. But sitting down with the FC books and making a character is a lot of fun and full of crunchy options.

Great news! I have played the 4E Board Games as a taster with my 2 oldest boys, and a bit of PFRPG Beginner Box (too complex). We are about to launch into some Swords & Wizardry, heavily house ruled, so will see how that goes. But more options to play with my 4 boys (currently 3-5-7-9 yrs old) is awesome awesome awesome!

He'd have a gear penalty to Notice with that collar, he'd be unable to see anything when turning his head!  Evil

Cool pic tho, lots of detail.

I have tried it three times now and it is still the old files, I can't find the button (unless it is not obvious like in the Core Book and I am not looking hard enough!)
