I use them all the time as a GM and PC. Stress and subdual damage are great at making the game more interesting. Stressing out becomes a concern, so does the chance of getting knocked out. Players have an alternate method of eliminating hostiles other than using lethal means. How often do we see this is popular media? The Bad Ass Hero or Bad Ass Villain can scare off lesser threats with a look or a flourish. Or pistol whips a guard and knocks him out cold.

Our gaming group has incorporated firearms in an Eberron campaign.  The firearms are magical rather than technological keeping with the theme of Eberron.  We have tried to implement weapons that could be fired a few times but have a number of charges per 'clip' of ammunition, therefore letting the user use the weapon several times before a full reload.  In the case of our weapons we use bound elementals much like the magical techniques used to bind elementals to airships.  This makes firearms expensive and prestigious, usually only those in great standing within a Dragonmarked house has access to one.

We had found that making a pistol capable of firing every round to be incredibly powerful.  We are using a 'charge' system in which every shot is a charge that takes a round or more to recharge depending on the expenditure of each shot.  Damage output is related to how long the recharge takes, so you could 'charge up' a shot for full damage or shoot every round with a very low damage output.  I think it fits the theme of the campaign well.

I know that this is a very specific conversion, but there are ways to make firearms work in any campaign.  The thing is, firearms are incredibly powerful and if you want to limit access do so using renown and reputation.  This goes for settings in which firearms are a new emerging technology.

Fantastic adaption.  I plan to run a Mass Effect game in the near future.  I already had the first version and was pretty happy with that.  The new tweaks and design are very nice.

Certain abilities allow you to roll more than one action die for specific checks.  Others let you regain an action die spent when the check still fails.

Just stumbled upon this website. http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Main_Page

I was doing some research on the weapons used in Predator and its got a ton of screen caps and good info.  Might be useful for people to find a specific gun a character used.

Their digital initiative.  I completely forgot about that.  Its great how Wotc continues to follow the business practices laid out in Knights of the Dinner Table.  Hard Eight is real and its name is Wotc.

I was going to make a snarky remark about how Wotc will end up opening their own brick and mortar stores. (They tried it, and they failed.)

I recall they failed at keeping their books from getting into pirate's hands when they initially released 4th ed.  Now they want to stop people from buying their product legally.  I'm just amazed how crazy they're getting.
