Species
Human (or Humaniti)
Humans are the most common race found in Charted Space. Moving out into space, humans from Terra found
In game terms, Humans in Traveller are treated as the normal Humans Species from Mastercraft.
Groll
You are a Groll, part of a race of barbarians found almost anywhere across the surface of Jupiter. Some of your kind are nomadic herdsmen roaming the arid deserts of that world, others are savage tribesmen of the Scarlet Jungles. Many of you have been enslaved by the Marikon overlords as bodyguards, labourers and warriors.
Physically, you have the heavily muscled frame of your race. Atop your shoulders sits your head, a solid mass. You do not have a neck as humans know it. On your face solid black eyes sit above a simple slit mouth and you have no nose or visible ears.
Even though your kind is often oppressed, you value one thing most of all and will do whatever to obtain it: Your Freedom !!!
Common Personality Traits: Ill-Tempered, Forgiving, Loyal, Vengeful.
Common Physical Traits: Heavy build, Thick grey skin, Slow moving, Clumsy

• Crunch: Your STR based damage rolls inflict 1 additional damage. (1)
• Enlightened Skill (Survival): Your maximum skill rank increases to your Career Level+5. Only the highest bonus from any enlightened ability may apply to each skill. (1)
• Thick Hide 2: you are considered to be wearing partial armor that provides DR 2. It does not stack with other armor, if you gain Thick Hide from other sources it offers the highest DR + 1 per additional hide benefit. (1)
• Reviled: Disposition of Non-race reduced by 10 (-1)

Colonist
Colonists are wayfaring pioneers who set the foundations of new societies on far-flung continents, planets, or moons. To survive in their new surroundings, they learn to live off the land and defend themselves against indigenous predatory life forms and hostile forces of nature.
Requirements:
Bonus Feat: Select Builder, Guide, or Planetary Adaptation.
Skills: Choose two of the following skills as permanent class skills. If a skill you select is already a class skill, you gain a +1 competence bonus on checks using that skill.
Computer Use (Int), Craft (electronic, mechanical, or structural) (Int), Knowledge (earth and life sciences or physical sciences) (Int), Navigate (Int), Repair (Int), Survival (Wis).
Wealth Bonus Increase: +1.
Combat Pilot
Fly the unfriendly skies.
Requirements: Handle (Flying Vehicles)
- Bonus Feat: Basic Skill Mastery (Dogfighter: Handle & Notice).
- Combat Proficiency: You gain the Vehicle Weapon proficiency.
- Paired Skills: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in the Handle skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Tactics skill. This may not increase your Tactics skill beyond its maximum rank.
- Relentless Attack: You gain the Relentless Attack trick.
- Wingmen: When in a vehicle, you gain a +2 morale bonus to your Defence and all saving throws if there are at least 2 other characters who share a talent or Allegiance within your first visual increment.
Engineer
When things fall down and go boom, you're responsible either for fixing it.. or doing it.
Requirements: Interest (Engineering)
- Bonus Feat: Basic Skill Mastery (Demolitions: Crafting & Prestidigitation).
- Broad Learning: You gain 2 additional study Interests.
- Cheap Shot: You gain the Cheap Shot trick.
- Crafting Focus: You gain one focus for the Crafting skill.
- Natural Ingenuity: You gain 1 rank in Crafting and a +1 morale bonus to all Crafting checks. Apply this bonus rank before spending skill points.
- Paired Skills: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in the Search skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Prestidigitation skill. This may not increase your Prestidigitation skill beyond its maximum rank.
Mariner
You're the crew, coming through, doing your thing.
- Bonus Feat: Basic Skill Mastery (Man & Van: Athletics & Handle).
- Agile Defence: Your base defence increases by 1.
- Paired Skills: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in the Athletics skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Crafting skill. This may not increase your Crafting skill beyond its maximum rank.
- Skill Focus: You gain the Water Vehicles focus for the Handle skill.
- Stand Together: You gain a +2 morale bonus to your defence and all saving throws if there are at least 2 other characters who share a talent or Allegiance adjacent to you.
Trooper
You're the backbone of any military.
- Bonus Feat: Any Basic Combat feat.
- Heroism: You gain a +1 bonus with all attack and skill checks you make during dramatic scenes.
- Overland Travel: Once per session you may reduce the overland travel time of any 1 trip to 3/4 standard (rounded down).
- Paired Skills: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in the Survival skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Tactics skill. This may not increase your Tactics skill beyond its maximum rank.
- Stand Together: You gain a +2 morale bonus to your defence and all saving throws if there are at least 2 other characters who share a talent or Allegiance adjacent to you.
Vagabond
Your journeys have taken you far and wide and taught you many things.
- Bonus Feat: I Can Swim
- Inquisitive Mind: You gain 2 additional Interests.
- Natural Survivor: You gain 1 rank in Survival and a +1 morale bonus to all Survival checks. Apply this bonus rank before spending skill points.
- Odd Jobs: You gain a +5 morale bonus with Downtime checks made to earn income.
- Paired Skills: Each time you gain 1 or more ranks in the Athletics skill, you also gain an equal number of ranks in the Blend skill. This may not increase your Investigate skill beyond its maximum rank.
- Trackless Step: The DC of Tracking checks to follow your trail is increased by 10.
